A day in Canterbury

Canterbury is the perfect place that combines the history, nice cafes, very cute streets and a river.

Another advantage of this city is that you can reach there under an hour from London with train.

When you are in Canterbury, if you have got off at Canterbury West train station, one of the best things you can do first is visiting The Goods Shed. The Goods Shed is a farmers market, food hall and a restaurant where you can get some local and interesting food.

Next best thing to do is just wondering through streets and getting lost and enjoying the feeling of walking in the history.

Yes, even though it is the most cliche, I recommend visiting the famous Canterbury Cathedral which is beautiful but it also has beautiful gardens.

I especially recommend visiting The Great Cloister in the cathedral which has interesting architecture details.

Another great ceiling architecture detail in the Canterbury Cathedral
When I visited the Cathedral, they also had very interesting installations by Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg. The exhibiton's name was Under One Sky focusing on equal and inalienable rights and fundamental freedoms of all people.

Once you had enjoyed the historical sites and streets in Canterbury, the question comes to where to eat in Canterbury. And I would recommend the Skinny Kitchen if you are looking for a vegeterian cafe in Canterbury.

Hope you enjoy!
