Stanage edge from Hathersage walk in Peak District

Stanage edge from Hathersage/The Millstone Inn

Start: Hathersage/ The Millstone Inn
Distance: 5.9 miles (9.5 km)
Time: 3-4 hours

Hathersage is a small beautiful town in Peak District area. It is on Hope Valley line which is served by trains from Sheffield and Manchester. As it is very well connected with trains and buses to other Peak District town, it is a good option for exploring other villages and a perfect option for a car-free holiday in the UK and Peak District.

As we were staying in The Millstone Inn we have followed a different route and avoided going back to Hathersage centre. So if you would like to return to the centre of the Hathersage, after descending from Stanage edge, you will see a sign onto an accessible land in the beginning of the Dale on the right. If you cross the land, and follow the footpath you should be back to where you started: Church Bank. This alternative route is also good for avoiding walking on the main road.
